Thumbs up for CJ7!

Went to watch CJ7 with JX yesterday. It was really a hilarious movie and i was laughing heartily throughout. The storyline was heartwarming & sad as well, as Stephen Chow played a construction worker who worked very hard to provide and pay for his son's expensive school fees in an exclusive academy. For those who have yet to watch this movie, i would highly recommend it to you. To know more about the movie, you can refer to http://www.sonypictures.net/movies/cj7/.

Btw, something funny happened in the cinema which i would like to share with you.. There was this quite big-sized girl, around 12 years old, sitting next to me. She seemed quite irritated with me as my hp blinked, and she turned to signal the call to me with a stern look on her face. Shortly after, there was this scene which i wanted to laugh but felt the pressure not to.. it was a scene of a big gigantic kid, with a cute feminine voice, whom Stephen Chow's son helped stand up against the bullies in class. (See insert below). Frankly speaking, since it's a matter of preference, there is perfectly nothing wrong to be on the bigger side. But as the movie was over-exaggerating, everyone can't help but burst into laughter.. except for the big-sized girl next to me, nonchalant about the scene and munching on her popcorns emotionlessly... As sensitive as i always have been, i tried very hard to suppress my laughter ... hmm... remember how stern she was previously, i was afraid she might turn and yell into my face, thinking that i am discriminating the bigger size people.

Anyway, hope you will enjoy yourself too should you decide to watch CJ7 and hope you had a great weekend!

The Injured Pig...

I have been on MC for the past 2 days as I've hurt my spinal nerve while at work on Tuesday. It was beyond comprehension how I injured myself given that i was in my usual sitting posture on my favourite Aeron chair widely-known for its ergonomic design.

So here I am, blogging away to kill my boredom. Routines for the past 2 days can be liken to that of a pig.. S&E... A better description would be "a tai-tai's life"...

Still remember I hurt both my wrists when i was in lower sec, one after the next on consecutive years. First it was my left wrist, during 1996 Xmas while at a friend's house. Trying to be a superwoman of some sort, i climbed on a sofa that has a thin mattress standing on one of its side and leaning against the sofa. The next moment, i decided to jump to the ground but before doing so, made a foolish move to step on the side of the mattress since it was obstructing my path. Obviously, my weight was too overwhelming for the frailed looking mattress to bear and hence i fell miserably and sat on my bottoms, with my left wrist supporting it to counteract the impact of the fall on my buttocks. The pain was excruciating which sent me to the chinese physician for follow up treatment for about 4 weeks.

The 2nd "accident" was during a PE lesson when i was in sec 2 (Yr 1997). This mischevious guy classmate of mine misaimed the soccer ball at me which was intended for another guy classmate behind me. It came at such a fast speed that i have no choice but to shove it with my right hand to prevent it from hitting hard on my body. The ball further forced my fingers backward after hitting my palm and the pain was indescribable which forced me squatting to contain the pain with tears streaming down my cheeks. My classmates and PE teacher who witnessed the scene were shocked and rushed to my aid, and the guilty-stricken "culprit" was reprimanded by my teacher on the spot. Hardly a year past and here i was, making another trip to see the Chinese physician again. I thought it will be the same procedure like before where the physician places my wrist under a table-standing equipment that emit heat gradually for a few minutes before bandaging it. But this time round, it was slight differently.

I was asked to lie on my back and take a deep breath. He held my injured hand and chatted with me. Seeing that i was concentrating on the conversation, he twisted my wrist immediately and i could feel a sharp pain while it was adjusted back to the correct "position". I wailed uncontrollably upon sensing the pain. It was really ... EXTREMELY TORTURING & PAINFUL... Shortly after, my right hand swollen to the size of a pig's trotters and i have to bandage my right wrist for a couple of weeks which caused my skin to itch due to the lack of air and cleaning on the affected area. Soon after, my friends started to "decorate" my bandage with their multi-million dollar signatures. -_-

Recalling this unpleasant experience, i seem to have a phobia visiting chinese physician again. Hence, the reason why i decided to bear with the pain and rely on GP's painkillers. It's a cowardice act perhaps, especially that my back muscles are starting to ache due to my hunchback posture to reduce pain on my spinal nerves.

But nonetheless, I'm relying on your prayers, my friends :)
